Hey Guys,

ive only been boarding for a little while now (since the end of last season in Australia) but ive picked it up really quickly.

The thing is i ride with a group of guys and i dont even know any other girls that wakeboard in my area. I love the guys to death and wouldnt have it any other way as im not a girly girl but sometimes that are a little more fearless than me, not saying im a chicken! So the tricks that they suggest are what they are attempting now and i feel like i need to work up to their level (and them hopefully kick their butts  Cheesy )

Ive mastered wake to wake jumps and am getting great pop and my landings are really controlled. Im wondering if any of you have any advise/ direction on what i should be trying next?

Cheers guys!

Grabs and 180s.
Then mix and match your 180s with grabs in every possible combination.  Can keep you entertained for hours  Smiley

Hey Tilly,
I grew up riding with a bunch of guys. Learning from the people you ride with is probably one of the funnest ways to progress, not necessarily they easiest. When the guys are riding watch how they edge into the wake (hopefully its perfect technique) look at the timing on when they grab the board and their body position when they land. When you ride go out and try to copy that. And as Kiwichick said, combine your grabs with your 180's and try to grab your 180's in as many different ways as possible.

Do yourself a favour and buy a copy of 'the book' DVD from your local board shop. the beginner/ intermediate series is full of techniques to help you progress and become more comfortable on your board in many different riding positions! (there are more than one) There are many instructional DVDs out there, though 'the book' is the only one I would suggest spending your money on.  if the Tige tour passes through your town this year, sign yourself up for a lesson! or go to the 'prowake academy' on the Gold Coast or black diamond Sydney, both schools have awesome coaches who I have learnt lots from over the years. I sometimes coach all women's sessions through both schools, and Amber often puts together clinics throughout the season which are all female! Having a professional teach you correct technique is defiantly a good idea.

Hey Hayley,

thanks alot for the tips!! will soon be a proud owner of the book i ordered it today so im looking forward to getting it and learning as much as i can.

Your right about learning from the people you board with, its great fun but maybe not the best way. Luckly for me i live in port macquarie in nsw so "stoney park" in 10 mins down the road and they do lessons on the lake there, the Tige` tour is coming through here but in newcastle so its a little far away, but ive heard great feedback from people who've had lessons from stoney park.

Would love to travel and get involved in a coaching sesh with yourself or amber sometime soon.

Thanks heaps for the advised, will let you know how i go!

Cheers Till.
